There are three sections to this geography resource to help teachers integrate geography in their curriculum.

The first section, Geography Modules,  includes seven modules of foundational concepts of geography. The eighth module in this section includes resources that provide an overview of geography topics such as population, migration, urbanization, and the environment.

The second section,  Geo-Inquiry Support, introduces teachers to the National Geographic Geo-Inquiry process and includes support resources for teachers.

The third section, Geo-Inquiry Modules, includes Geo-Inquiry units developed by Salt Lake City School District teachers which serve as exemplars for other teachers to bring Geo-Inquiry to their classrooms. These modules also include additional geography modules of specific topics related to the geo-inquiry process. 

Each section of modules includes PowerPoint presentations that provide teachers with background information about a concept in geography. These can also be revised, if necessary, to share with students.  In addition, within each PowerPoint there are links to readings, videos, and resources, many of which can be used with students. There are also question embedded within the PowerPoint to help you apply the geographic concepts to something familiar and which can also be used with students. 

Be sure to pay attention to the note sections in the PowerPoint for additional information or ideas. The notes section also has all the links referred to in the PowerPoint which you can copy and paste in your browser, in the event you have trouble accessing the site through the slide show.  Finally, the highlighted and italicized words in the modules are academic vocabulary students are likely not familiar with, so please be sure to front load students as necessary and use the academic vocabulary throughout the year as you continue to come across opportunities to use them.
